Teck Global
Project Outline
Scope is to build a new 1500m2 industrial workshop facility with 10T overhead gantry crane, along with a 550m2 two storey office.
The team at Glask initially met with Teck Global and visited their existing facility to gain a more in-depth knowledge of their business operations and future needs, from here we put together a reverse brief which captured their needs and started to move forward with design.
The building floor area consists of 1,500m2 of workshop space, a 10T Eilbeck gantry crane and high point load fibre steel floor, there is also a large container loading bay towards the rear of the building. The current design is based on a skillion roof as Teck Global required a larger portion of yard area for the assembly of their switch stations. The building however has been future proofed and can be added on to in the future to double its footprint, creating a standard apex design. Up front is a 550m2 double level office for their current staff and future growth. Externally there is approximately 3,500m2 of heavy-duty paved areas.
The team worked through the current labour and trade shortages along with continual weather delays over winter to deliver the project ahead of time.
